OLD FOLK CELEBRATE

Coronation Pariy at "braemore" There may have been Coronation culebrations larger and more impresoive. but there could not have been any more enjoyable than that which took plaee at Braemore Homc, Havelock North, on Thursday afternoon last, and no gathering was more sincere in its loyaity to the Thronc than that of the old people of this home who celebrated the occasion. In honour of the occasion, Matron Boyd and her staff had decorated the lounge with a Coronation seheme, this uieluding a iarge photograph of the King and Queen, bedecked with flags and streamers, and this lounge was th© contre of the festivities, wh'ich* were joiixed in by visitors and friends from Napier and Hastings. A spec.ial treat vvas provided by Mr. Oameron, the Scottish evangelist, who gave a' most liappy and inspiring address to the old people, and then came'a big surprise, in the i'orm of a Coronation cake. which had been appropriately decorated by the matron. This was cut and Tianded round by Mrs. Lomas and Mrs. MeBurnia, the two oldest members of the Braemore "family," and there is no doubt that the afternoon was enjoyed to the fuli, At the conclpsion of the festivities Matron Boyd thanked those who had asslsted and expressed the hopo that they would soon be able to come back and spend an afternoon with the "old folk."
