WAIPUKURAU, This Day. The sum of £20,440 18/2 represents the excess of income over expenditure on the past year's working of the Waipawa Hospital Board. Income for the year ended March 31 totals £63,696 7/2, comprising the following items: "Excess of income frorq previous year, £18,455 1/8; contributions by the Government, £5224 9/1; levies on local authorities payable for the year £6388 0/1; voluntary contributions, £2; fees receivable from the various institutions of the board, £32,189 12/5 (£11, 597 7/7 from the dis. trict hospital, £927 12/10 from the Rathbone Maternity Home; £18,258 2/- from the Pukeora Sanatorium, and the balance from other sources); bad debts recovered, £3 12/5; profit on farms £1,367 6/-; miscellaneous income, £55 6/9. Expenditure for the year totals £43,265 9/-, The main items were: Institutional maintenance, £32,587 3/8, charitable aid, £5752 18/4; administration, £2006 2/4; amounts payable to separate institutions or Department of Health, £1686 13/4.
