A clearing sale is to be held by Harvey, Fulton and Hill on Wednesday, May 19, on behalf of Mr James Clements, 919 Gordon road, Hastings, opposite the Hastings West School. Besides a practically new Atwater-Kent radio and Moffatt electric stove, a large quantity of heart-rimu furnishings and a large entry of sundries will go to the hammer. We can cordially reeommend clients to attend this sale. Considerable interest is being aroused in Hastings in the visit of Mr E. M. Blaiklock, M.A., the claesics lecturer at the Auckland Uni versity. Mr Blaiklock is a well-known preacher with a forceful message, and he never fails to grip his audieuees with the clear, presentation of the great Christian doctrines. The series of lectures to be givex. here during the next few days has provoked the keeneet attention m the larger centres of the Dominion. -he nnnual meeting of the Nati..ual Beekeepers ' Association will be held on Wedneeday, May 19( at the Chamber of Commerce room, Hastings, at 7.45 p.in. To-night is the night of the Hibernian dance and 500 tournament in the Oddfellows' Hall. Old and young will be catered for here. There are good prizes for cards and novelty dances. Gordon Eedward's music and a good supper ensure a pleasant evening. An address will be given in St. Paul's 6choolroom, Napier, by Professor Murphy, on 4 ' Capitalism and Its Kivals." The lecture ib under the auspices of the Hawke'a Bay branch of the New Zealand Society of Aecountants, and a cordial invitation iis given to th6 general public to attend.
