T* Breef, of Raurimu, hy . discharging a rifle loaded with destructive material, the Orown Proseputpr, Mr Bain, intimated that accused had been under the observation of two medical officers from Porirua Mental Hospital, who would testify that he was unable to understand the nature of the offence and was insane. After a jury, which had been specially ampanedled, heard the evidence of doctors, it returned* a verdict that Barber was insane, - -'1 Mr Justico Reed ordered liim to be detained in a mental insfitution. Accused was a returned soldier livin isolation on a farm up river and w1 poor eireumstances.
