German Planes Were - Involved LONDON, May' 16. A Salamanca message states that the insurgenta accuse Britain of sendin£ guns to Bilbao in food ships. A Bilbao message says that evidence that4 German 'planes bombe'^J Guernica comes from the capture of a German airman, Hans Wandel, who, in a sworn statement, says he enlisted in Berlin and participated in raids 13 times in eight days. "Most of the insurgent airmen are Germans," he says. "I did not bomb Guqrnica cnyself, as I was flying a pursuit 'plane, which was hit while I was attacking an ari moured car. ' ' Tho Bilbao correspondent of "The Times" says that every pilot of a 'plano thus far brought down in Basque territory has been a German.
