PLANTING AT THE CAPE
Board Proposes to Carry Out Scheme The Cape Kiduappers Sanctuaiy Board proposes to plant trees at the Cape as a Coronation memorial. At the annual meeting of the board a letter was received from the Hawkc-s Bay Scout Assoeiation offering its §ervices in the planling of trees and alsc offering a do nation of £2 towards the cosfc of trees by way of eommemoration of the Coronation. The bcard decided to accept the offer witll grateful thanks Mr. E. R. B. Nielson and Mr. W. B. Stewart, members of the board, offered to organise working parties of schoolboys to go out and "help with the work of digging and planfing® trees and shrubs as soou as the area was mado secure from rabbits. The main diffieulty is the transport of the plants, for if thev, were carneu Kiteh a long distance along the coast they would probably be considerably damaged and thus the chance of their successful establishment would be much reduced. It waa suggested that the cerviees of some launch-owner who would carry the plants direet to ihe Cape should be enHsted. 01! course, a very fine day would be necessary to permit a safe landing on the heach in tronr. the shelter-ehed.
