MASTERTON JUBILEE
On Saturday four members of the Hastings Harrier Kfiub, B. Anderson, P. Barrer, N. Cohen and P. Giffaney attended the Masterton Harrier Club's silver jubiiee. This fixture was wellorgauised, and teams from Wellington, Wanganui, and Hawke's Bay districts competed. The results" in the open events were as follow : — Five-mile cross-country race. — C. Weller (Palmerston N.) 1, Time, 29min 24secs ; Gregoi-y (Masterton), 2, time, 29min. 26secs; lyddington (Scottish), 3, 29min. 46secs ; B. Anderson (Hasttings) 10th, P. Barrer (H) 14th. Teams section (four men to count)— Scottish (Wellington) 1, 22 points; Brooklyn (Wellington) 2, 51 points; Masterton 3, 62 points. One mile steeplechase. — O. Brown (Scottish) 1, D. Petersen (Brooklyn) 2, A. Stevens (Scottish) 3, B. Anderson (Hastings), 7. Relay race, haif-mile (4 — 220 yards) — Scottish 1, Napier 2j Masterton 3. In the evening the visiting teams were entertained at a most enjoyable and successful dance.
