Tbe aunual meeting of tbe Hawke's Bay Drama League will be beld at tbe Pasadena tearoorns, Hastings, ou .Mon. day, May 31, at 8. p.m. The Havelock North Town Board ba's opened a subscription list at the board's office for the King George V MemoriaJ Fund, and Havelock residents are invited to send in donations. The board has headed the list with a giit of £5. On account of the weather, the 44 1$ year Hereford heifers which were - to have been otfered at Stortford Lodge on Wednesday on account of Mr M. S. CJiamlbers, Tauroa, will not now come forward, but will be offered on the 26th with 80 weaner steers. Miss Mary Jf.Nett oi Amenca, wW give an illustrated lantern lecture, "Man's Greatest Power,Thought," in the Oddfellows' Hfill, Alarket street, Hastings, on Wednesday, May 19, at 8 p.nr Mr. John Lambie, the well-known Hastings golf professjouaJ, will delivcr a lecture on "the essentials of the gulf swmg" in the Friehdly Society 's Hali, Warren street, to-night at 8 o'clock. To illustrate his talk Mr. Lambie will show some motiou pictures. All golfers intcrested are invited to be present. , ' Gaptain David Kee, of the Church Army, will be leeturing on tlie work of the. Church Army both in New Zealand and in England on the dates advertised. Captain Kee has had wide experience as a lecturer, and his visit to Hastings provides an opportunity of getting to know something about the great work of the Church Army. The lecture will be illustrated by lantern siides.
