VAUDEVILLE FOR HASTINGS
STANLEY McKAY 'S GAJETIES. The Press of Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, wliere f ull-length seasons were played by Stanley McKay 's English and Australiau Gaieties Vaudevilie Eevue Company, writes in glowing terms of the inerit of the show, which is to appear at the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, on- Wedpesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 19, 20, 21 and 22. A Wellington paper refers to Joe Lawman, the leading man, as the best whistling and singing comedian heard for eome time. The same paper says The Hilos, George and Wehi Greig, are magnetic, and music exudes from them as naturally as breath from their nostrils. Of the Flying Martinettis, it says: Eisley performers have been seen at other times — the Japanese epecialise in this class of performance — but at is doubtful if sueh an act as the Martinettis has ever been equalled in this eountry. The foregoing are but a few of the star turns to he staged in "Some Sliow, ' ' tho initial production. Others prominent in the large casts are Stella Lamond, the Personality Girl, whose character studies, grave and gay, are most artistic; Kath. Howarde, English revue artist; Heather Wright, charrruing contortionist and eccentric daneer; Elvy Ferguson, solo violinist; Harry Heming, baritone; Ellen Black, Scottisb comedian, and Cy Pier, ukelele expevt. Features of each revue to be staged during the season are the! Gaieties Beauty Ballet, May Broolye 's orchestra, boautiful dressing, and the very 'latost dn sfaging. The conlpany is to leaye Wellington for Sydney by the Maunganui on May 29. so this will be the last' opportunity Hastings thoatregoers will hkve of seeing the popular company.
