Medals Presented By The King and Queen PICTURESQ&E ASSEMBLY (Received 15, 1.30 p.m.) LQNDON, May 14. Australia was highly honoured when General Chauvel, with General Sir Eichard Howard Yyse as chief stafE officer, commanded a parade of nearly 1500 Dominion, Indian and colonial troope, when Their Majesties presented Coronation medals at BucMugham Palace. The assembly was one of the most picturesque ever witnessed on the Palace lawns. The troops were drawn up in the hollow square, and when Their Majesties appeared at the head of the steps leading from the terrace General Chauvel ord'ered the Eoyal Salute and the band of the WeJeh Guards played the National Anthem. The King was in the undressed uniform of a field-marsEal. The Queen descended the steps, followed by Queen Mary, with the little Princesses and the Duchess of Gloucester. Many notabilities assembled on the terrace, including the Queen of Norway, other royalties, Indian princes and maharajas, and Mr and Mrs W. J. Jordan. The King first presented medals to the officers commanding the eontingents, then, escorted by General Chauvel, Their Majesties, the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent walked towards the ranks for the presentation to the t'roops, who were formed up in four double ranks, down the first of which the King passed, presenting medals, in crimson boxes, and chatting with the Tecipients. The Queen, with the Princesses,- eimilarly passed down the second. row. and the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent down the third and fourth. The linal scene was the troops marching past Their Majesties, the band playing "Land of Hope and Glory" and the old patriotfc song, "So'ldiera of the King." The medal coneists of Their Majesties' portraits, worn with blue, white and red ribbon.
