To-morrow's Prospects
(By Telegraph — From
AUCKLAND, Thxs Day. The winter fixture of the Waipa Racing Club is to be held on the Te Awamutu course to-morrow, and the ground should be in excellent order, for the nature of the turf is such that it is a fine all-weather track. Fields are exceptionally good and while these may be reduced somewhat by starting timo there will be sufficient runners in all events for a full quota of place dividends to be paid out. On to-morrow's cai'd* tixere are two steeplechase contests and one hurdles, so it is a real jumping fixture. As at Pukekohe the fences for the croescoxxntry event are not very stift and_ so once again speed rather than jumpiixg ability will be the 'first essential. Last Wednesday's form may prove reliable, but the presence of several horses that did not Tace at Pukekohe will add to the interest and further complicate some intricate problems. The form horses engaged are the following: — 11.45: HACK STEEPLES. — Kinkle, Lucidus, Curlew. 12.30: TRIAL HANDICA^. — Ngakaru, Stormy Weather, Superior Guard. 1.15: PARK STEEPLES. — Tudor, Windsor Lad, Golden England. 2.0: WOODSTOCK STAKES. — Dark Shadow, Sinkipg Fund, Day Wind. 2.45: ORAKAU HURDLES.— Royal Mumic, Killadar, Pango. 3.30: ARAPUNI^ HANDICAP. — ■ Golden Sheila, Ornte, Adalene. 4.15: HAIRINI HACK.— Besiege, Ringshot, Thurwind.
