DAVIS CUP TENNIS
Australians' Match With America KEW YORK, May 13. A Eorest Hills message says the Australians, save McGrath, aud the Amerieans practised, but owing to a sharp wind Mr Sproule quiekly terminated play. The Americans persisted but in a highly informai manner, usiug Kozeluh (the professional) as coach. The Austrailians are departing for Philadelphia on Eriday for a series of exhibition games designed to keep the players mentally keyed up by a change of scene. They are returning on Monday, when it is expeeted McGrath will begin practice. The Herald'Tribune 's tennis expert states that the opinion of obsefvers is evenly divided as to whether GrawforU will essay both the singles and doubles. It is thought Mr Sproule may prefer to get the maximum results from Orawford and Quist in the doubles, using McGrath and Quist in the singles. The American choice of the uumber two singles player appears to lie at present between Grant and Parker, although Mako is progressing so rapidly that he may become the loaical choice for the post.
