TIKOKINO INSTITUTE
The Tikokino Women's Institute held its May meeting in the Memorial Hall, Mrs Petrowski presiding over a fair attendance of members. The meeting opened with the singing of the institute song, after which a lengthy amount of business was dealt with. Mrs H. Morrisson then*gave an interesting report on the federation meeting held at Waipukurau, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Five new members were nominated. The competition results are as follow. — Jug cover : Miss Knapp 1, Mrs J. Williams 2, Mrs H. Morrisson 3. Six pikelets: Mrs Jackson 1, Mrs Petrowski 2, Mrs A. Knapp 3. Best bloom: Mrs A. Knapp 1, Miss B. Knapp 2, Miss D. Knapp 3.* Miss Rood gave a very interesting demonstration on the making of Victorian posies, all members being keenly interested in the work. Miss Rood, also judged the various competitions, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her services. The singing of the National Anthem concluded a pleasant afternoon.
