Central IjLB. Fixture at Waipukurau EXCELLENT ENTRIES

WAIPUKURAU, TJus Juay. Excellent entries and a good attendance of the public made the Central Hawke's Bay Rugby Sub-Union's annual seven-a-side tournament at Wai-, pukurau yesterday, a eucoess in every way. Thirty-two teams entered, comong from all parts of Hawke's Bay, including Napier, Hastings, Porangahau and Dannevirke. By commencing in the morning the finals were able to be played in a good light. The weather was dull but no rain fell. In the finals, Hastings H.S.O.B. senior team defeated Waipukurau by 11 points to nil; Pirates junior team defeated Waipukurau H.S.O.B. by 8 points to three, and Hastings Higjb School B thirds lost to Napier H-S.-O.B. by 18 points t.o nil. A special feature of the tournament was the running of the Limbrick Cup race,' which is competed for annually over a distance of 110 yards by f.ootballers in their Rugby gear. After a close finish, R. Phillips (Napier H-S.-O.B.) won the cup for the second year in succession, with D. Bj-adley (Waipukurau H.S.O.B.) second, and G. Cox (Napier H.S.O.B.) third. There were nine entries. Mr A. L. McCormick, president of the sub-union, in presenting the cup, congratulated R. Phillips on his fine performance. Results are as follow: — • SENIOR.
