V ATJDE VILLE FOR HASTINGS A season of seven consecutive weeks at Fuller's St. James 's Theatre, Christchurch, and lengthy runs at His Majesty's Theatre, Auckland, and at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, by ytanley McKay's Gaieties Vaudeville and Revue Company speak in glowing terms of the popularity of the show, wliich is to play a season of four nights and a matinee at the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, opening on Wednesday, May 19. Mr McKay's productions come annually to New Zealand and are recognised as the best of a variety nature to visit tho Dominion. Since la-sf- "Loro the compaiiy has been reorganised; . it is now headed by Joe Lawman, Australia '» greatest whistling and singing comedian, who is making his first appearance in New Zealand. Assisted by Geo. Corelli, character actor, Ellen Black, Scottish eoinedian, Kath Howarde, Engiisli revue artist, and Stella Lamond, the PersoDality Girl, he is to star in unmeroua novel and snappy sketches, as well as appearing in his individual mnnbers. Although strong in coraedy, tho specialties are of a varied and outstanding nature. Prominent among these are the Hilo Duo, George and Wehi Greig, Hawaiian entertainers, who toured for three -years with Sir JJarry Lauder; Elvy Ferguson, solo violinist; the Warren Boys, comedy tumblers; Harry Heming, baritone; Cy Pier, ukeiele expert; Heather Wright, contortionist and eccentric dancer; and tlie Seven Flying Maftinettis, whose acrobatic act is eonsidered to be the most thrilling of its nature ever brought to the Dominion. The opening revue is entitled "Some Show," and there are to be frequent ehanges of production during the .season, :rcjuding a matinee on Saturday afteruoun at 2.30. Beautiful dre3sing and the latest in staging are featurea of each show. Seats may be reserved at FaL's.
