MRS. M. A. TlPENE

The death occurred at Wanganui on Saturday of a well-known and higljlyrespected Maori womau in the person of Mts Morehu Atareta (Tipeue, of Hawke's Bay and tho Wairarapa. The deceased, who was 56 years of age, belonged to the Ngati-Kahungunu tribe of "Wairarapa, and was a member of the Manihera family, of that district. Sho was a very fine type of Maori woihan and well beloved by all who knew her and had becn liyihg in Wanganui for 3ome time. Before she died, the Bev. Alr Kokiri and Mr T. McDonnell visited her and ba6e her farewell on behalT of the Maori people.
