N.Z. MEN'S ORDEAL

Mounting Guard at Palace (Received 12, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 11. The Grenadier Guards ' Band played the New Zealanders to Buckingham Palace where they took over guard duty at noon. The Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, the Hons. W. J. Jordan and W. Nash and other New Zealanders arrived to watch tbeir eountrymen mount guard. The New Zealanders appeared sharp at noon from the guardroom. The crowd was again disappointed when full ceremonial was not observed owing to rain. The men merely marched around the railings replacing the guard. Small knots of spectators surrounded each man staring embarrassingly at his face and equipment, but tfie mcu cndurod tfie . ordeal admirably.
