Track Performances and Riding Engagements UTTLE SERlOUS WORK
(By
A few of to-morrow 's contestants at the H.B.J.C. Coronation Cup meeting were given a run along this morning, but nothing of a serious nature was attempted. Buster Brown ran three furlongs impreseively in 38secs. Gold Nymph came home the last two furlongs of pace work in a most determined manner. Asset and Knightsbridg?, with the former in front, ran three furlongs in 37Jsecs. Tycoon was not galloped, but was lame after being exercised. Wykemist and Hamarin were given a working gallop over five furlongs "in 66secs. Hamarin went well. Big Dook was far too good for King 's Lancer over six furlongs in 1.17 J, but the latter is a very bad track worker, Padishah and Soho took a fraction longer for the same distance, but botli finished strongly. Haut Monde, with a 1-ight-weight up, sprinted five furlongs on the grass in 63secs. From a time podnt of view this was the' best .gallop registered by a Coronation Cup candidate. . From a standing start, Catalogue ran the same journey in 64fsecs. — very fair. Mandamus, not buetling himself, was clocked to run half a mile in 51secs. Bluffer, going- slow over the first furlong, registered 50isecs. for four furlongs, the last three in 37. Tupai, against the bit, ran five in 67secs. Lavina, by dashing over four furlongs in 50secs.'on the plough, pleased. Peter Beckford is a very doubtful starter in tbe Flying Handicap tomorrow, the same applying to Iddo in the Hurdles.
