Men Who Left Their Mark
W.
BURFIELD.
(To the Editor.) Sir, — I congratulate you on your Coronation and Jubilee number. Would it be asking too mucli of tbat hne citizen Mr G. Ebbett to give us a series of writings in the paper tell'.ng the full story of the growth of Hastings? I am sure it would make most interesting reading. There are three men, late of Hastings, that I think ehould have been mentioned on your Jubilee number, for they were men of outstanding ability, alwaj's ready with sound advice and -ever ready to put- their uttermost into anything of a progrpssive nature. They were men with great hearts, and their names, 1' am sure, are evergreen to those who wero fortunato enough to come in contact with, them in any capacdty. I refer to Mr Lunn, Mr Bansdale and Mr G. Land. I see many concrete evidences of their foresight and sonnd judgment in the progress of Hastings over Ihe last 24 years. — Yours. etc.,
Hastings, May 9.
