SCHOOL JUBILEE

Mayor of Napier Welcomes Visitors Former pupils of the Hastings Street School, Napier, were accorded a civic welcome by the Mayor, Mr C. Q. Morse, at the Sound Shell, yesterday afternoon. Despite a light rainfall, there jvas a good attendance at the brief ceremony. Mr Morse referred briefly to the great change that had taken place in the town since many of. the visitors were last there, and expressed a wish that their siay in Napier would be most enjoyable and would be favoured by better weather. On behalf of the visitors, a reply was made by Mr W. E. Arnold, of Wellington, who spoke of his memories of Napier 50 years ago. The jubilee, he said, had been the means of renewing friendships with those who had not met each other for many years.
