Reports have come to hand from Christchurch of crowds of children who made the journey to Lyttelton to visit the ship and came back with theix enthusiasm and interest aroused. The Southern Cross is expected to berth at the Breakwater, at Napier, early on Thursday morning, and eyery opportunity will be given for those interested to dnepect the vessel and to meet the Melanesian bush brothers and Ihe missionary on board. Such a visit happens only once in a lifetime, and offers a unique opportunity for the sending of gifts to the island. Already gifts of every deseription have been pouriug into the diocesan office at Napier from all parts of the surrounding districts, indicating that the work being carried out in Melanesia is fully apprcciated in Hawke's Bay.
