An appeal to the women of New Zear land to support the King George the Fifth National Memorial Fund, which is to provide children' s permanent health camps, was made1 by Mrs P. Mrs Fraser, who has for many years taken a leading part • in . social welfare activities, has served -on important committees and commissions which have investignted aspects of public health, and, as a member of the Wellington Hospital Board for 10 years, gained a deep insiabt into the general conditions of he" tellow citizens. "In giving my support to the fund, 1 wish to appeal principally to the women," said Mrs Fraser. "The women of New Zealand, either through their organisations or individually, have a proud record of social achievemqnt, and 1 know they will never relax their efforts until every man, wonian and child has the means of gaining full health and happiness. "At present we are in the midst of an appeal which is probably uniqtio. We are about to perpetuate fhe memory of a man Avho ruled over the British (Jonnnonwealib of Nations for over 25 years, and who by his deep and abiding concern for the more unfortunate of his people an inspiration for all who are iiiterested in human welfare. Es-. Iiecially was tbe late King ever mindhil of the children, and, iu raising this fund which is to establisb perinaneirt health camps in his ineruory, we are not only paying tributo to a beloved monareb, but also ensuring a permanent extension of oue of the finest health movements this country has ever known. "The memorial fund which is being raised combines. a sentiinent of grateful remembrance for our late King with a sense of welfare for the future. Need 1 say any more to the women of New Zealand whose loyalty and whose application to the probjems of human happinesB have never faltered."
