At the Takapau Presbyterian Church on Wednesday afternoon the marriag© was solemnised of Audrey Iris, third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Thoriisen, Burnside, Takapau, and Bernard
James, younger son of Mr and Mrs D. J. Bayliss, Hatuma. The Rev H. S. Scott, M.A., officiated and Miss Myrtle McLeod presided at the organ and! played the bridal music. The church was beautifully decoi ated with ferns, bowls of autumn leaves ahd greenery and a floral bell. The decorations were carried out by Mr A. J. Campbell, Miss V. Campbell and many friends. 'Ihe bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a cream satin gown with small medallion buttons from neckline to waist. Her gown had a lace train and cowl yoke and wide sleeves also of lace. She wore an embroidered veil held in position with a coronet of orange blossom and carried a shower bouquet of chrysanthemums, freesias and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Hazel Thomsen and Miss Elaine Thomsen were similarly gowned jn frocks of pale leafgreen silk velvet with cross over yoke and slashed sleeves and sprays of am. .tumn leaves on the shoulders. They wore gold and green halos and carried shower bouquets of abutilons, crocuses, autumn berries and leaves. The bridemaids wore crystal neoklaces, the gifts of the bridegroom. The pages Master S. Murray Kichardsoii and Clive Thomsen, nephews of the bride, were dressed in. Lord Fauntleroy suits of daffodil yellow trimmed witb green velvet1 buttons, and acted as train-bearer's. The best man was the bridegroom's cousin, Mr Herbert Bayliss. Mrs J. Thomsen, mother of the bride wore a navy tailored costume with navy bat and fox fur and her bouquet was of roses, autumn berries and fohage. Mrs D. J. Bayliss, mother of tho bridegroom, wore an ensemble with floral crepe de chine frock with navy coat and hat to tone and catried a bouquet or. roses and red carnations. After the ceremony, a reception was field at ''Burnside," the residence of \ th© bride' ■ parents where a large num-
ber of guests and friends honoured the wedding toasts. The happv couple left on their honeymoon, travelling uorth by car, the bride wearing a smart navy blue tailored costunu' with aceessorips to tone. The future liome of Mr and Mrs Bernard Bayliss will be "Ashley," Takapau,
