MUCH-FETED BRIDE MARRIED IN HASTINGS

McINTYRE — PORTER A much-feted brid© wiiose wedding took place last week was Tlielma, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. J. Porter, Alexandra street, Hastings, and the bridegroom was George Luke, second son of Mr and Mrs R. Mclntyre, Clonkeen, Nuhaka. The Rev. JJ. J. A, Shaw officiated at the ceremony at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Hastings. The bride, who was given awayo by her father, wore a gown of magnolia satin, the bodice having a cowled neckline and fine shirring at the shoulders and top of the fitting sleeves. A plaited satin girdle was worn at the waist and her cream tulle embroidered veil was worn with a circlet of white roses and orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white roses and begonias with .touches of pink. The bride' s two sisters, the MiBses Maureen and Nancy Porter were her bridesmaids and wore blue and pink silk matalasse respectively with puffed sleeves and a large butterfly bow at the waist. The corsage was smocked at the neckline and fell jn a soft cowl. Each> maid wore a bandeau of pink rosebuds and carried a- shower posy in shades of pmk and bluo 'a Mr James Farquhar, Otamauri, the bridegroom's cousin, was the best man, and Mr George Dench, Oamaru, waB groomsman. The reception was held at fhe Ritz tearooms where the tables wero decorated with pink poppies and fern. The beautiful two-tiered wedding cake was made and presented by Mrs T. Clifford. Songs were sung during the evening by Miss Cathleen Monteath and Mr Gordon Duiilop. The guests were received by the parents of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs Porter wore a blue laee gown with a blue velvet coatee and navy hat and accessories. Her posy was of ponk flowers.

Mrs Mclntyre wore a brown ensemble and brown hat and carried an autumn shaded posy. When the bride and bridegroom left by car for their honeymoon tour the bride travelled in a smart navy blue costume with blouse of white georgette and navy hat and accessories. Mr and Mrs G. L. Mclntyre will live in Wairoa. "
