NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. James Wilson, an old-aged penBioner, ,was burned to death in his hut at Matau, eastern Taranaki, to-day. A young man saw the hut ablaze and sought assistance. but nothing could be done to save Mr. Wilson as ihe whole building was a mass of flames. When the iire died down they saw what they thought were htin'an remains. The poliee later searched the debns and found badly-charrod remaius. The cause of the fire is unknown. Mr. Wilson was in a feebb condition and uould have cifficulty 211 escaping.
