A very pleasant function took place yestprday afternoon in tbe Napier ofiice of tbe' Hawke's Bay Npwspapers _Ltd„ when Mrs Poley was presented witb a silyer cake disb and setver on bebalf pf tbe combined Hastings and Napier staffa, Keferencp ' was made to Mrs Poley 's long association witb the paper, and tbe gift was intended to mark the psteem in wblch sbp was beld by ber fejlow members of tbe staff. Mrs Poley briefly returned tbanks, and was tben entertained to afternoon toa.
