Discussion On .Prices 01 Admission CENTRAL H.B- UNION

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. At a meeting of the Central Hawke's Bay Bugby Sub-Union held in Waipukurau last night, the prices for admission to the pTovincial and test matches against the Sprdngboks was diacussed There were present: Messrs. A. L. McCormick (chairman), 0. M. Williamson (secretary.), W. Cuthbertson, E. D. Sharpe, A. W. Parsons, T. Nicholls, Y. Parsons, E. G. Kedgeley, W.' J. 3r*illips, J. Ferguson, and E. J. Watt. The matter was brought forward by Mr. W. J. Phillips, who said the general feeling- was that the prices were too high. He moved that the subunion forward a protest. Mr. W. Cuthbertson said that he considered the games well worth attending despite the . high prices. The chairman, Mr. A. L. McCormick, expressed confidence in the N.Z. Union. Times were better, said Mr. McCormick, and with costs rising the prices of admission should also go up. People who; attended- these matches only and did not show interest in club football should pay more. After all, the. games would be well worth attending. The motion was put to the meeting and lost. Concesslons To Players. A motion by-Mr. E. G. Kedgley that the sub'-uniqn ask the N.Z. Union to make some provision and concession for club players to attend the Test matches and provincial matches against the Springboks and in the f uture was carried. ■ Mr. Kedgley said that if young players who wanted to see good football, but could not alford to pay the high prices, had special provisions made, it would help them in their, football and consequently the sport would benefit. Mr. V. Parsons asked if it was going to help football by keeping young players away on account of the high prices. He considered it proper that something be done to provide for. them to attend these matehea.
