G. Johnston, v,ith ja: brass wood box and fireside chair as tokens'of the--esteem dn .which iie has been held durihg his associations " with -tke Intermediate Schook Mr. Johnston* has ■ xesigned from his position- in; oxder to becdme a member of the in'spectoxate of - the Education 1 jfepartment at Wellington. The, presehtation wa's -made by Mr. t*. Eowe, who referred to the capabililles of Mr.- Johnston, who was a vexy popular man. He 'wished him every saecess in his new work, at wMch he was bound to make a success. Tfaa Mayor of Napier, Mr. C. 0. Morse, said that paxents of school children had always admired the enthutdasm of Mr. Johnston. Whatevor he put his hand to he did extremely well. These xemarks were endorsed by the -enior member of the Intermediate St-hool teaching staff, Mr. A. L. Wilson, *vho assured Mr. Johnston that the • eachets regretted to see him go. In thanking the meeting for the pr8--eiitation, Mr. Johnston said' that he oas Korry to leave Napier. When he •sme he realised that he had an important job to do, and 'he hoped that he had done it .to the satisfaction of parents -and pupils alike. ^
