CORONATION TREES

Planting in Hastings Street • The planting of a row of trees along Hastings street, between Heretaunga street and Lyndon road, as= a Coronation Mernorial has been decided upon by the Hastings Borough Council. Tt is proposed that the trees be planted by the various local bodies and organisations !n Hastings as their individual contribution to the celebration Of the occasion. The MAyor, Mr G. A. Maddison, stated this morning that owing 'to the very dry weather it would be impossxble to proceed with the planting of the trees during Coronation Week, but that as soon as conditiong were favodrable the planting would be proeeeded with.
