Mr Charles Price, who joined tho staff of the Hawke's Bay Herald in September, 1877. His sixty years of association with the paper remained unbroken by the amalgamation of the Herald and Tribune. From his own personal experiences he knows the story of the development of Hawke's Bay and this knowledge has been extremely valuable in gathering information and setting down the history of Hastings.
