WEST-END TENNIS CLUB HOLD ANNUAL BALL
Blud and gold streamers were arranged from a central cluster of multi-coloured balloons in the Oddfellows' Hall last evening for the annual dance of the West Eud Tennis ' Ulub. The hall was filled to capacity, and all the dancers spent a jolly evening. The committee, whoso arrangements were so successful, were: Mrs W. J. ochroder, Alisses JS. Baird, D. Farmery, K, Colwill, M. Ward and 13. Redci; iVlessrs W. J. Schroder (honorary secretary), T. Cullinane, J. Greene and C. J&irschberg. Excellent dance music was played by Gordon Kedward's orchestra. A delicious supper was set out in the supper-room; wnero tho long tables were decorated with crystai vases of bright berries and autumn leaves and this was appreciated by the dancers. Among those present were : — Mrs W. J. Schrpder, gold.satin gown with handmade fiowers at the neckline .and a coatee of whdte chiffon velvet. . Miss D. Farmery, white chilfon patterned. with pink and blue posies and a large pink hower at the neck. Miss E. Baird, iloral silk frock worn with a cherry sash and a gold satin cape liued with cherry. Miss K. Colwill, gold satin gown and coat worn with a posy of violets at the neckline.
Mrs X>. H. Doak, black georgette with silver sequins trimming the full sleeves and corsage. Mrs H. E. Campbell, black skirt worn with an evening blouse of deep blue. Mrs R. Grey, pink marriette with double fiared epaulettes and slashed back , Mrs J. Simonsen, white gedrgette patterned with field fiowers. Mrs W. E, Ward, green diagonally striped satin cotelle with a brilliant clasp and silver girdlft. Mrs R. Patterson, black skirt .woni with a smocked blouse of palest green chiffon. Mrs Lew Munfo, black chantilly lace gown with off-shoulder epaulettes and white corsage fiowers. Mrs L. Fowler, gown of geraniuni red chiffon with waterfall frills trimming the skirt Mrs Duckmanton, "black silk patterned in green, primrose and mauve and worn with a black velvet coatee. Miss C. ' Doohan, black panne velvet with slashed sleeves and pink flowo.rs at the neck. Miss L. Beacli, iloral silk in black, lemon and flame with a flame tafi'ota coatee. Miss A. Marigold, daffodil satin with long full sleeves an dgold lame trimming. "Miss R. Thompson, pink needlerun lace. with inset godets in the skirt of net appliqued with lace. Miss U. Smith, black mauette having draped sleeves and a large cireular clasp at the neck. Miss J. Sullivan, branze and black shot taffeta, fashioned with a high gathered, neckline and sleeves trimmed with gold. Miss M. Burden, pink peau d'ange lace - with cape sleeves finished with tiny frills of kilted georgette. Miss Strakaf trained gown of turquoise taffeta with a posy of pink and silver fiowers. Miss'.Nancy Scott, pink corn-spotted taffeta, a shirred f rill at the neck and spray of ruby fiowers. Miss M. McKendrick (Napier), sky blue silver-threaded cotelle with belt of silver and tiny buttons • down the back. Miss N. McKendrick, . navy blue gown of taffeta and net alternate bands, tho neck outlined with gold. Miss J. Kyfe, pink 'iloral chiffon, the full sleeves shirred at the shoulders. Miss F. Ebbett, b)ack satin gown with ruby red fiowers at the neck. Miss E. Wright, vivid green crepe charmelaine trimmed with silver sequins. Miss M. Summersby, black cire taffeta with quilted basque and batcau neckline. Miss O. Cosgrove, black taffeta with short puffed sleeves and Peter Pan collar in red. Miss M. Boyle, black mariette mav.ing a high neckline and coral clasp at the neck. Miss M. Lys, flame gold-threadod cloque with gold buttou trimming aird worn with a gold girdle. Miss R. Godfrey, palest green agelskin lace, the cape osleeves edged with pleated frills of net. Miss M. Fisher, whito taffeta patterned with blue posies and a sliouider Bpray of deep blue fiowers. Miss Greville, pink chiffon patterned with blue and pink, having puffed sleeves and a natural ahoulder spray. Miss J. -Lasseu, white cbfirinelaine, patterned with pink roses and worn with a white fur cape. Miss D. Woolf, black chiffon velvet with triangular clasps at each side of the neck. Miss D. O 'Neill, gown of starched chiffon in daffodil and green shades, having a belt of daffodil velvet. Miss M. Flanders, blue clinkled crepe frock and coatee with puffed sleeves. Miss P. Marven, patterned chiffon in red and yellow shades with full sleeves and a cowled neckline. Miss H. Bligh, red moire taffeta fashioned with puffed sleeves and a square neckline edged with gold. Miss J. Satchwell, palest green gown worn with a long red coat ahd red shoulder spray. Miss M. Crowe, pinlc not over taffeta with a sash of pink velvet. Miss E.
