CHRISTCHUBCH, May 5. Entries were again heavy in tho sheep sections at the Addington market to-day. Fat ewes and store wethers sold at fully up to recent rates but there was a steadier tendency in the other sheep sections. Store sheep: Most of the entry comprised old ewes and for these there wa* a dragging dema.nd. Good Bomney cross two-tooths made to 33s 8d, good s.m. to 25s and several lines of forward wethers from 24s to 26s 3d. a big proportion of old ewes were passod. Fat lambs: 3000 were penned and there was a good sale at schedule rates though not so aninmted as the mar'kot last week. Best lambs brought from 30s to 33s and in a special case to 38s 10d, and good medium 27s 6d to 29s 6d. Fat sheep: Another heavy entry of between 6500 and 7000 with a slightly easier market for heavy wetherB because of the weaker skin market, but ewes for which exporters were actively in the market sold strongly. Best wethers made from 30s to 33s and in *. few cases to 40s, good 27s to 29s 6d; and light down to 24s; best ewes made. from 24s to 26s and in a few cases toi 30s, good 22s to 24s, medium 19s to 21s I and light down to 15s. Fat cattle: Values were up to 10s a head better for a small proportion of tho good cattle forward, other sorts being from par to slightly easier. Best steers made from £13 to £16 7s 6d good £10 to £12 10s' j best heifers £8 10s to £11 10s, medium £6 10s to £8 5s: best cows £8 to £11, good £6 to £7 18s and rough down to £4 5s. Fat pigs. An excess entry of porkers met with a slightly easier sale; values per lb. 5fd to 6|d; baconers showei • little change. values 5Jd to «d.
