Start To Be Made With Professional Tourneys A start is to be made/on May 21 nest with the series of boxing tournaments in which will be featured two 10-round professional fights, by the Hawke's Bay Boxing Association, 20 replies having been reecived to the 30 letters sent cut extending invitations to participate in the series. The executive met last evening to consider the replies, Mr. B. De Lisle presiding over Messrs. G. Warren, H. G. Apperley, E. Wall, B. Shadbolt, V. H- Colello, D. M. Campbell and J. Stickland (honorary secretary). General satisf action was expressed at the response to the invitations, and it was deeided that the first matches be Balph Aitken (Wellington) ■», Alan tsrker (Palmerston North), and D1 Glendarry (Wellington) v. "Tiger" Mitchell (Christchurch). . In addition it was decided to stage another 10 one-mxnute rounds interteams contest for the Donald Campbell Cup, and also include in the preliminary programme four amateur bouts. The prices fixed for the tournament were: — Stage 5/6, dress circle 4/-, stalls 3/~> gallery 1/6, women and boys 1/6 to any part of theatre./ Permission was granted the Hastings Gymnastic Club to stage a series of "no decision" contests at an open club-night next Monday evening.
