Annual Meeting and Election of Officers

WAIPAWA, This Day. The annual meeting of the Waipawa Savage Club was held last evening in the Coun.ty Couneil Chambens, Waipawa, Past Chief Savage S. W. Strang being in the chair. Savage C. H. Oritchley eulogised the scrvices renderod by'the secretary during the past year. The chairman welcomed Savage Venner, of the Masterton club, who liad come to reside in Waipawa. He* was elected as a member of the club, the following nominations also being received; Messrs Haiyke, Orr, Adeane (re-elected), F. Mitchell, W. J. Harris, J. Angus and E. Woodruffe. Th.e election of officers resulted: — - Chief,' Savage E, W. Chisholm; vicechiefs, Savages, Adeane and T. J. Dallas; secretary; Savage B. H. Moss; auditor, Mr F. Holt; committee, Mes|srs V. Douglas, J. Russell, F. Tickner, N. J. McKay, A. Venner and 'D. Chalmers; accompanists, Savages R. W. Rust and S. Bott. A vote of thanks was accorded Savage S. Bott, who had assisted the club on several occasions at great personal "inconvenienee. The appointment of a conductor was left in the hands. of tho committee and the purchase of music for the orchestra was leffc to tho committee with power to ach Savage Douglas suggested that the programmes in the coming year should be varied by the inclusion of debates and sketches, and that the programme should be. outlined at the begin'ning of the season with a view to giving programme organisers more time. It was resolved that the suggestion be adopted as far as possible.
