CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW AT WAIPAWA

WAIPAWA, Last Nigkt. A most successiui Cbrysanthemum Show, under the auspices of the Waipawa Womens5 Institute, was held in the Municipal Concert Hall, Waipawa, this afternoon, when despite unfavourable weather conditions, there was a very good attandance of the jjubhc, and an excellent display of blooms, and other exhibits, Mr J2. Oakeutuil acteu as judge of the fiower and vegetab.o sections, and Miss L. Murphy judged the fancywork. Several stalls had been arranged, and each one reported good business. Th© stall-holders were as follow: — Sweets, Mrs R. A. Pepperellj cakes, Mesdames kingston and Towers ; jumble stall and produce, Mesdames Grenside and Adeane. JDuring the afternoon a short musicai programme was presented, beiug greatJy appreciated. by the gatkering. ltems were contributed as foliow: Mrs Thackeray, pianoforte solo ; Mesdames Strang, Furminger, Towers, Edwards, Bishop, Adeane, Thackeray (piano), and Miss Dailey, . doubie quartette "Sweet and Low" ; Mrs Drake, vocal solo; Mrs Drake, community smg; sketch, "The Wrong EHfect", Mr& Pepperell (Jane), Mrs Strang (Mary), and Mrs Towers (Fred)j sketch, ' lMy Best . Friend", Mesdames Fox, Strang and Towers. The competition for a cake was woil by Mrs R. Donghi, for a box of cbocolates, Mrs Eddy and . an Easter egg, Mrs Pepperell.
