East Coast Mobs For Waikato
iBy Telegrapb
OPOTIKI, Last Night. It is not expectqd that after th* present week there will be auy further movement of sheep or cattie from Poverty Bay aud the East Coast to the Rotorua and Waikato districts, with the exception of a largf mob of sheep and several mobs of cattie, which left Opotiki tpward the end of Igst month. There has been little movement of stock for some weeks. Very few sheep are now being carried by "truclt from Poverty Bay, as the continue# cold wjnds experienced rqeently have made traveiling By this method too hard on the sheep in the uncovered vehicles. Most of the late mobs of cattie have been taken by road to the Rotorua ''is* trict. With thq, good season fo? pastures it has been observed that the cattie iu particular have been in splendid cen* ditiou, iu strikiug coutrast to the mobs passing through in the previous dry seasons, when the animals wqre ofteu very emaciated.
