AUCKLAND, Last Night. As a proteSt agaiast a recommendaiion made by tlie Fruit Marketing Committee that legislatioix skould be en-1 acted providing for the identifieation of all AsiatiCs by means of thumb print tedords, the AuCklatid branch of ihe New Zealand tndian Association passed the following resolutioil which was telegraphed toi the Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. P. Fraser: ' ' This meeting of the Auckland bxanfih of the NeW Zealand Indian AsSOOiation views -with graVe coneern the thtunb prints recoffimendation made by the Fruit aiid Vegetable Coihmittee for all Asiatics enghged in the fruit and vegetablo trade. If ptit into operation this unjust recornmendation will be most humiliating to our nationals, and we have not the slightest doubt that the fair-minded legislators of this WOUderful Dominion will iiOt pay any serious attention to this lin-British sUggeation. "Furthermore, in our Opinion, it will be a most unfair act towafd oue of his Majesty's suhjecta legally domiciled in this cduntry.
