Fewer Marriages Recorded
A substantial increase m the number of birtks and a big decrease in tbe uumber of marriage licences issued are features of tbe vital statistics for the Hastings district ior last montb, compared with the Aprii figures of last year. The figures, as supplied by the Registrar of Births, Deaths aud Marriages, Mr W. M. Wiil, are as follow:—
Last montb one marriage service was performed by the Registrar as against three during the same period last year. It should be noted that Easter foll in April of last year and this would account for the more Hccnccs issued.
