Flame Blcws-Back on Wingatui

AUCKLAND, Last Night. Severe • burns on the body were suftered by Mr Thomas Dignan, aged 26, a flreman on the Union Steamship Company 's coastal vessel Wingatui, when he was caught by a blow-back of flame yfrom the vessel 's furnace during the run from Wellington to Auckland. The accident occurred at 1 a.m. on Thursday, the day after the vessel left Wellington. Mr Dignan was treated on board. A St. John ambulance was on the wharf to transport him to the Auckland Hospital when the Wingatui nrrived. Mr Dignan 's condition is regarded as serious. i
