CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The suggestion that the returned soldiers' organisations in New Zealand and Australia should take a hand in trying to bring about a settlement- of the disputo between the Dominion and tho Commonwealth regarding potatoes and oranges was made by Mr W. ELeadley, president of the Ghristehurcsh Retqrned Soldiers' Assoeiation at the annual re-union of the Australian Imperial Forces Assoeiation on Saturdav evening. "Year by year this dispute drags on and the people of both eountries are suffering in consequence,." he said. "To my mind, the time has arived when the Aiizacs in New Zealand and Austra lia should make a determdned effort to end this dispute, and I suggest that the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Assoeiation conference and the conference of the Returned Soldiers and Sailors Imperial League of Australia should both pass resolutions strongiy urging their ^espectiv© Governments to sett-le this dispute at the earliest possible momeht, as it iB not shared by the people, and is contrary to the spirit of flnzac."
