HOTEL PURCHASES

Two Taupo Transactions The Lake Hotel, Taupo, owned' by the | cate of th^ late Mr J, Gallagher, Auckland, has been acquired by Dominion Breweries, Ltd., while transactions have been completed in respect of the two other hotels at Taupo. The Spa Hotel has been purchased from fcha estate of S. Charlton by Mr T- A. -Heath, formerly of Napier, who pre' viously held a lease and Mx J, P. Sheehan, has bought the Terraces Hotel from Messrs Hancock and Co., of Auckland. Both transactions, it is understood, have involved purchase prices of about £6000. Mr J. Meikle, formerly of the Tarawera Hotel, bas purchased the Plumpion Park Hotel at Meeanee from Mr E. Limbrick. The price of this was alsp about £6000. New Zealand Breweries, Ltd., have acquired the Terminus Hotel, Napier, from Mr R. J, Jeffares, at a p|ice of £16,000. The Crown Hotel, Port Ahuriri, and the Napier Hotel were also recently purchased by New Zealand Breweries Ltd., the total purchase price being approximately £30,000. Another recent hotel transaction was the purchase by Mr J. P. O'Reilly of the Tarawera Hotel. Mr O'Reilly was formerly secretary of the Maraenui Golf Club.
