BLENHEIM, This Day. Moon after taking off from Blenheim aerodrome on' a flight to Masterton yesterday afternpoUj Mr K. Johnston, pilot instructor to the Wairarapa Aero Club, made a forced landing at Ocean Bay, near Port Underwood, the engine of his machin ©, an Avro Avian, cuttingj out owing to magneto trouble The pilot was faced with the position of making a hurried selection of a landing ground in hilly country, and he suo"ceeded in making an excellent landing on a rough, sloping paddock without injury to himself and only slight damage to the plane. 1 Mr Johnston was making a return flight to Masterton from Christchurch, where he had been attending a blind flying course. Mr Johnston tspent the night at Ocean Bay and came on to Blenheim this morning. Only slight repairs are necessary to put the plan© in flying order.
