The necropoiis w.as probably the pro.-, perity of the plutoeracy of the-.period. Each of the five tombs. exeavate.d "shows architeetural differ'enees but all are of Greek coneeption, including examples of pure Dorie style and of a totally different plan from other, Greek mausoleums plan from other Greek mausoleums of which xemains, have. heen found in. vari-. ous. partsi of Aiexandria.
