HASTINGS WEST SCHOOL

Meeting of Committee - A

¥ The monthly meeting of the committee of the Hastings West School was held last night. Present ; Messrs Mackersey (chair), Driller (headmaster), Westerman, Colello, Miller, Treacher, Matthews, Britten, Trumper and Har vey. The headmaster reported that the roll number was 332, and that the day's attendance had been 320. He also reported that as a result of a further count of those desiring to take milk 293 pupils replied in the affirmativeThe headmaster reported that the Hastings Rugby Sub-Union had kindly donated a football to the school, and that a letter of thanks be forwarded. It was decided that the cocoa servioe be commenced at the commencement of next term. The accounta were received from the Education Board auditor and the committee recorded its cohgratulations to the treasurer, Mr V. L. Westerman, for tlie exeellent manner in which the accounts had been kept. Arrangements for Coronation ceremonies were discussed and completed. There is to be a special ceremony for the school on May 11. The Hastings Borough Council has kindly arranged to provide for refreshments for the pupils. A resoJution of condolence with the relatives of tho late Mrs Small was passed, special mention being made of tlie great interest the deeeased bad taken in tbe school and of ber long sorvices for the school-
