WELLINGTON, This Day. In Tegard to the Fruit and Vegetable Committee 's suggestion that thumbprints of Chinese and other Asiatics engaged .in the fruit and vegetable trade Bhould be taken to simplify identxfication, the Cihinese Consul, Mr Feng Wang, said to-day; "The com-
mittee actually recommended to impose on my countrymen resident in this fair Dominion an act which in all civilised countries is associated only with crime, but I have not the slightest doubt that the New Zealand Government will not even consider the committee 's suggestion, because it is most nnfriendly to China and is contrary to the British sense of fair play."
