"AUCKLAND,' Last* Night. ; The sole rights to register pedigrce dogs and to hold pedigrce dog sbows ia New Zealand were sought by a deputa(Ion xepresenting the New Zealand Kennel Club which waitcd on the Minioter of Internal Affairs, Hou. W. E. Parry. The deputation was led by tho president of the club, Mr. Norman iWade. The club had been for many years recognised as the medium through which pedigree dogs were registered, Mr. Wade said. At present, however, anybody could register dogs and man^ people had suffiered as a result of registering their dogs with organisations whieh had no recognised status. The I club was not auxious to interfere-with the greyhound or whippet racing organisations and it had the support of gundog clubs and working collie clubs. throughout New Zealand. The Minister said he thought sueh a move as the club requested would tend to creata conditions conducive to the bettcr breeding of dogs and a reduction ; in mongrels. IIo promised to give the niatter every consideration, which ho t'elt it merited.
