Gordon Walker, Ltd. Exceptional prices for poultry and porkers was a feature of Messrs. Gordon Walker Ltd.'s weekly market sale held on Saturday last beforo a good attendance of buyers. An excellent market prevails for pullets and cock* erels, and, these lines sold at top rates for the season. Despite the heavy yarding all table birds sold to an unsatisfied demand. In the pig seetion all heavy weights sold above schedule rates, while medium and light sorts maintained late values. Dairy stock sold to a fair market and all sundries met with a keen demand. Prices realised were as follow: — Poultry: Table birds 1/9 to 6/6, W.L. pullets (on lay) 5/9 to 11/3, for ward 4/6 to 6/9, late 3/3 to 5/6, W-L-hens 1/11 to 2/5 and 1/6 to 2/1, W.L. cockerels 2/3 to 3/1 and 1/8 to, 2/4, B.O. hens 2/4 to 3/3, B.O. cockerels 2/11 to 4/6 and 2/3 to 3/4, B.O. pullets 4/6 to 8/-, late 22/6 to 5/3, others (hens) 1/9 to 22/4, (cockerels) 2/5 to 3/1, (pullets) 2/9 to 5/10, bantams 6d to lld, ducks 3/- to 6/6 per pair. Pigs: Weaners 8/- to 10/6 and 5/to 9/-, slips 9/6 to £1, stores 17/- to £1 5/-, light porkers £1 2/- to £1 10/-, porkers £1 8/- to £1 19/-, heavvy porkers £2 to £2 6/-, baconers at £2 13/-. Dairy stock: Cows £2 2/6 to £7, heifers £2 115/- to £4. Sundries: Gent's cycics £1 15/- and £3 10/-, s.f. plough £5 10/-, wheelbarrows 7/6 to £1 5/-, saddle £4 10/-, set harness £2 10/-, timber 19/- to £1 8/-, maize 5/- to 10/-, heater 10/-, tricycle 7/6, pig potatoes £l 16/- per ton, and 1/6 to 33/- per sack, barrow wheel 4/0, pump 10/-, sheep netting 12/:, shovels 1/6 to 4/6, wrench 33/6, vyce 3/-, grate 4/6, saclcs 3d to 6d, pair step3 5/6 to 10/6, rivetor 33/6, odd harness 2/6 to 14/-, sundry tools, etc., at 1/to 5/6. Produce and fruit sold readily at vendors' rates
