DAEGAVILLE, Last Night. , Fanned by a westerly breeze a fire, of unknown origin swept through the secondary department of the Dargaville District High School about 6.50 o;clock. last evouiug, and bet'ore the brigade could reach Ihe scene tho buiiding was a roaring infcrno quite beyond any possibility of salvation. Within 45 minutes of the outbreak only gaunt and blackened uprights were left standing out against the vivicf Tcd furnace inside. Valued at £10,000, the school, which '.vus erected in 1925 and added to since, was of wood and corrugated iron firougaout, and was the best and mos' op-to-date district high school north oi Auckland. Arrangements for carrying on the luition of the 150 pupils ia other buildings in the town are being made.
