WELLINGTON, This Day. . 'Driving is a means of manipulation of machinery whieh propels a car, steers a car and stops a car," said the Magistrate, Mr. E. D, Mosley, S.M., in Court to-day. "Any one of these alone is insufficient to designate driving, On his advice, defendant had pleaded not guilty driving without due care and attention, and having left a lorry ihsecurely parked so that it had crossed Cuba street and run into a telephone b'ox. ■The police explained that the old regulations provided for the offence of insecure parking, but no provision was actualiy laid down in the new regulations, but they proposed to prove that the offence came under the heading of driving without due care and attention. After the case Was argued, the Magistrate held that it was in the manipulation of machinery to stop a car that defendant was carelOss, and therefore he found him guilty.
