i were presented by the youngest institute, Richmond Block. Both ladies were accorded musical honours. Puketapu and Richmond Block Women 's Institutes were responsible for the artistic stage decoration, comprising bowls, baskets of lovely autumn flowers, folliage and berries. Mrs. C, J. Baker loaned two splendid dish gardens and briefly explained how to make them. The Heretaunga group were hostesses for the day and provided a deliious morning- and afternoon tea. Visitors present were delighted to have the opportunity of admiring the Institute 's b'anners and cloths, which were displayed on the walls, also two tables at the end of the hall with a large eolleetion of craft work. Te Awapuni received . tremendous epplause for their beautiful unaccompanied singing. The choral pieces set were: "Shepherd's dance," (Ed. Geriran) and for the combined feffort, "Let All the World Sing" (Geoffrey Shaw). Mrs. Riggir was applauded after an aimouncement that in the potato competition she had grown 85 good specirnens from three potatoes. • Miss Amy Kane J.P., Wellington, in her address to the Federation, said: "If we had more co-operation between town and country we would understand each other 's problems better. We are now the largest organisation otf women in New Zcaiand, and number 35,000.'
